                 Reverend Dr. Johnnie L. Cook, Jr. 

​​Rev. Dr. Johnnie Lewis Cook Jr., is an ordained Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and serves as the Senior Pastor of Greater Allen Chapel AME Church, Macon Georgia.  He formerly served as the Senior Pastor of Saint Paul AME, and Mount Vienna AME Church in Valdosta, Georgia from 2006 to 2014.  Prior to those assignments he served as the Pastor of Saint Paul AME Church in Smithville, Georgia from 2004 to 2006.  Dr. Cook also trained in Chaplaincy through the Care and Counseling Center of Atlanta Georgia. He accepted his call to ministry while attending Greater St. Peter AME Church, in Jonesboro, Georgia. Dr. Cook serves as a member of the Macon Georgia Conference Board of Trustees and Board of Examiners. He previously served as the Dean of the South Georgia Annual Conference Board of Examiners and as a member of the South Georgia Annual Conference Board of Trustees. 
            Rev. Dr. Cook was born in Fort Benning, Georgia. He graduated from Hardaway High School, Columbus Georgia; received an Associate Degree from Columbus State University, Columbus Georgia; Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Bowie State University, Bowie, Maryland; Master of Divinity Degree (2005) and Doctor of Ministry (2015) from Turner Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) Atlanta, Georgia.
            Rev. Dr. Cook enlisted and served for twenty years in the United States Army Military Intelligence field, with tours of duty in Korea, Alaska, Germany, and Bosnia, as well as Desert Shield / Desert Storm. He retired as a Non-Commissioned Officer from the military at Fort Benning, Georgia in 2001. During his military career, he received numerous awards for achievement and training. Dr. Cook was formerly married to the late Deborah Lynn (Jackson) Cook, of Newark, New Jersey, with whom he has two children, Kacey Lynn Cook and Johnnie Lewis Cook III. He is currently married to Dr. Sheila Lynette (Crowley) Cook of Atlanta, Georgia, with whom he has two additional children, Shelaia Lynette Cook and Reginald Lewis Cook. Rev. Dr. Cook and Dr. Sheila are also the proud grandparents of four grandchildren, Danajah, John, Jakierra and James.
            Rev. Dr. Cook believes that no eye has seen; no ear has heard; and no mind knows what God has in store for his ministry, his family, and his church. To God be the glory for the great things He has done.
